The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) is a not-for-profit, member-funded organisation advocating for the future of Australia's children.
We work on behalf of long day care owners and operators to ensure families and their children have an opportunity to access affordable, high quality early learning services throughout Australia.
We are receiving quite a few queries from early learning service providers on behalf of their families, in relation to the 36 hours of subsidised care for children attending a preschool program at a centre based day care service.
Under the new Child Care Subsidy, as stated in the Minister's Rules, families that pass the income test are entitled to "36 hours of subsidised care per fortnight if the child attends a kindergarten or preschool program at a centre-based day care in the year that is two years before grade one of school".
The Department of Education and Training has released an online version of the Child Care Provider Handbook (the Handbook) - available here.
The Handbook is a guide to the requirements and responsibilities of child care providers and services that are approved under Family Assistance Law.
With less than 3 weeks to go until the switch to the new Child Care Subsidy, we're keen to hear how you're feeling about your service's operational readiness.
