2025 Federal Election

In the lead up to Australia’s 2025 federal election, the Australian Childcare Alliance aims to ensure that all political parties receive greater knowledge on how to Australian can continue to achieve high-quality, accessible, world-class early learning for all children.

Our key policy recommendations tackle the most pressing challenges currently facing the early childhood education and care sector and the children they serve: the immediate requirement to support children with additional needs, prioritising child safety, ensuring funding measures reach the most disadvantaged families, and building a workforce to support every Australian community.

Based on the lived experience of over 4,500 early learning services, employing over 75,000 educators and teachers and caring for more than 360,000 families throughout Australia.

A nation that protects its children,

protects its future.

Over 23,000 children receive inadequate funding to support their additional needs.

We’re advocating for equitable access to early education for all children.

Developmentally, the benefits are clear – children who enjoy quality early learning are likely to be well socialised, confident, inquisitive about the world, accepting of diversity, resilient in managing challenges and also life-long learners.

With appropriate policies and financial frameworks in place, we can ensure that every child in Australia has access to high-quality, affordable and sustainable early learning services, thereby providing the best start in life.
