Working together, working for you

Child Care Super looks after the superannuation savings of more than 80,000 members and helps more than 22,000 employers meet their superannuation obligations. They understand the unique challenges faced by women when it comes to saving for retirement because 85% of their members are women.

In Australia, women are at higher risk of retiring with less money in their super than men because of time out of the workforce raising children and the fact they generally return to work on a casual or part-time basis.

The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) has proudly partnered with Child Care Super to address this issue in the early learning sector by helping women to:

  • understand, grow and protect their super,
  • get rewarded for saving, and
  • create a better future.

Creating a super future

One of the biggest issues facing the majority of Australians today is financial pressure. The daily struggle to make ends meet means once the mortgage, groceries and bills are paid, there’s often not a lot left over for anything else, let alone extra contributions to super.

But what if there was a way your employees could add more to their super every day without having to give up their morning coffee or sacrifice anything else?

Thanks to SUPERSUPER, a shop-and-save rewards program available exclusively to members of Child Care Super, there is!

How does SUPERSUPER work?

SUPERSUPER helps Australian families save more to their super, every day, without increasing their cost of living.

With SUPERSUPER, when your employees’ shop, a percentage of every dollar spent with participating retailers will be paid directly into their super account. They can shop their favourite brands online or pre-purchase vouchers to shop in-store or online, boosting their super savings at the same time.

As women tend to be the main shoppers in the family, providing a program that allows them to grow their super balance each time they shop is a real and practical solution.

Employees earning less than $53,564 p.a. who make after-tax contributions via SUPERSUPER may also be eligible for ‘free money’ from the government in the form of a co-contribution of up to $500 per year.

Small regular amounts added to super today can add up to thousands of extra dollars over time, thanks to the magic of compound returns. And when it comes to super, a little bit extra can go a long way.

But what can I do?

Let's say Claire is one of the staff in your valued team of educators.

Claire is 34 years old. She earns $34,000 a year and has just $18,000 in super savings.

Claire is projected to retire with a super balance of just $141,000 which means she is at serious risk of not having enough money to live off when she stops working.

But if Claire registers for SUPERSUPER, she’ll start adding to her super every time she shops, without spending anything extra. This could add as much as 75% more to her account balance at retirement.

A little knowledge can go a long way

Making your employees aware of programs like SUPERSUPER that can help them bridge the gap may alleviate some of the stress they are feeling in relation to their financial future.

Employees who feel supported at work are happier, more motivated and more productive, which is good news for your business and your bottom line.

It’s also a good feeling knowing you’ve given your employees access to the tools they need to build financial security in retirement.

Best of all, it won’t cost you or them anything at all!
