The Australian Childcare Alliance Tasmania (ACA Tasmania) is a not-for-profit, member-funded organisation advocating for the future of Australia’s children.
We work on behalf of early learning service providers to ensure families and their children have an opportunity to access affordable, high quality early learning services throughout Australia.
The ACA has existed in various forms for more than 30 years.
The ACA Tasmania state body was set up in early 2017 with the help of a passionate group of local early learning service providers, in order to address the potential threat of the state government lowering the school starting age to 3.5 years by 2020.
Since its inception ACA Tasmania has engaged with state government to ensure that Tasmanian children receive the best start in life through play-based learning in high quality early learning services that have the ideal age/developmentally appropriate infrastructure for children in the 0-5 age brackets.
We understand the critical role a quality early learning program plays in the life of families and the importance of a viable long day care sector in preparing children for the best start in life and learning.
