The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) is a not-for-profit, member-funded organisation advocating for the future of Australia's children.
We work on behalf of long day care owners and operators to ensure families and their children have an opportunity to access affordable, high quality early learning services throughout Australia.

Be You

Be You is the Federal Government’s renewed and expanded investment in children's mental health and wellbeing, covering the early years through school and up to the age of 18.

The initiative builds on ECA’s 10 years working with Beyond Blue to deliver KidsMatter Early Childhood.

If you're already participating in KidsMatter, you will transition seamlessly to Be You. If not you can join  by visiting the Be You website - https://beyou.edu.au/

Be You is a mental health and wellbeing initiative for children in early childhood education and care services (preschools, kindergartens and day care centres) and primary schools.

It offers a framework that helps these services take care of children's mental health needs by:

• creating positive school and early childhood communities

• teaching children skills for good social and emotional development

• working together with families

• recognising and getting help for children with mental health problems.

The program was developed by mental health professionals and education and childcare staff in response to the high rates of school-age children with mental health difficulties and the problems they face getting help. It is a partnership between education and health sectors and is funded by the Australian Government and beyondblue.

By becoming an official Be You Early Childhood Service, you will be able to access the whole-of-service professional learning and get individualised support from the Be You team throughout the continuous improvement process.
