ACA President Paul Mondo is taking part in CEO Dare to Cure 2023

We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, but imagine hearing the words "Your child has cancer".

This year more than 1,000 families will hear these devastating words. It is a sad fact that cancer kills more children than any other disease. Tragically, every week nearly three Australian children and adolescents will die of cancer.

Earlier this year Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) President Paul Mondo was invited to take part in the CEO Dare to Cure fundraiser, which brings together leading CEOs and business leaders from across Australia to face a fear by taking on a dare, whilst at the same time raising money in support of the Children’s Cancer Institute.

The fundraiser event will take place at the Timber Yard in Port Melbourne in Melbourne on Friday the 20th of October and at the Fleet Steps in the Botanic Gardens in Sydney on Friday the 27th of October.

Paul has bravely agreed to take part in the fundraiser challenge at the Melbourne venue. Out of all the options on offer, he has chosen to take in the Athlete's Ice Bath!  Paul is aiming to raise $10,000 through donations for completing the ice bath dare.

The money raised by Paul and other Australian business leaders will go to the Children’s Cancer Institute, which is the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to curing childhood cancer. The funding will be used to support and find a cure for the brave children who face the fear of treatment every single day.

According to the Children's Cancer Institute, sixty years ago, childhood cancer was a death sentence. Today, 8 out of 10 children will survive, but there is much work to be done. Medical research is how we will cure all children of cancer.

If you would like to support Paul's contribution to this year's fundraising efforts for children with cancer, you can make a donation here.
