ACA is well aware that the transition to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) has been a rocky road for many Approved Providers and families.
From educating families on how to complete the activity test to navigating through technical issues, there has been a range of complications that have affected the early learning sector, and in some cases resulted in families reducing their days or leaving their early learning centre.
The transition to the CCS is now being assessed by the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO).
The audit is seeking to examine:
- Was the Child Care Package designed to support the achievement of the Australian Government’s policy objectives?
- Have sound arrangements been established and implemented to support the transition to and management of the Child Care Package?
The audit is currently open, with the submission deadline of 26 May 2019.
The results are due to be tabled November 2019.
ACA will put forward a submission which talks to these questions on behalf of our members and all of the feedback we have received about the various issues experiences. We are happy to share this submission with our members and the general public.
However service providers are also encouraged to provide their feedback on the transition to the CCS with as much detail as possible.
You can submit your feedback electronically, either by web form, or through attaching files by visiting the website here.
We encourage you to take the time to make your voice heard!
ACA will share a link to the findings of this audit when available in November.
Meanwhile we're in ongoing discussions with the Department of Education and Training (DET) about the ongoing problems that our members are experiencing with the CCS.
Thanks so much to all of our members who have recently provided feedback about their experiences.
